    🇺🇸 About Us

The American Dream—with a side of bratwurst

    Who we are

    We’re not just making a show—we’re preserving German-American culture.

    Why we started

Tariffs crushed our dirndl biz. Storytelling saved us.

    Who’s involved

A veteran, a filmmaker, a German market, and one wild dream.

    Where we film

Real places: German Village, beer hall, restaurant, market and beyond.

    From Tariffs to Trachten TV

Hi, I’m Chad—a U.S. Navy war veteran, father of four daughters, and a retired electrical contractor with 25 years under my tool belt. I’m also the creator of The Wurst Life Studios—a comedic, culture-rich media company built out of pure necessity, resilience, and a deep love for the German-American way of life.

When President Trump’s tariffs slammed the door on our dirndl import business, we saw the writing on the wall: our livelihood was toast. But instead of folding, we flipped the schnitzel.

We turned to storytelling—and The Wurst Life Studios was born.

Built by Grit, Powered by Family (and Bratwurst)

I don’t have a film degree. But I do have a brother-in-law in Hollywood who’s got the chops—he writes, acts, and produces. Add to that our secret weapon: Michael, an employee at the German Market who just so happens to hold a Master’s in Film and Photography.

And then there’s Cindy—our rock and business partner—who graciously opened up her entire business to us as our live-action set.

We’re not just filming here—we’re living it. This is our home. Our heritage. Our hustle.

    Why We Do It

The Wurst Life Studios is our answer to a changing world—a place where we keep the German spirit alive in America through mockumentary comedy, food, fashion, and unforgettable characters. It’s part sitcom, part documentary, and all heart.

We’re proving you don’t need a fancy studio or billion-dollar budget to create something meaningful—just a community, a camera, and a good story.

Where the pretzels are fresh, the jokes are terrible, and the dream is alive.

    🎯 Mission Statement

“Make ’em laugh. Keep it German. Film it all.”

At The Wurst Life Studios, our mission is to preserve and celebrate German-American culture through storytelling, satire, and community-driven creativity.

Born out of hardship—when unfair tariffs crushed our traditional dirndl business—we flipped the narrative and picked up a camera. What started as a survival move has grown into a movement: a mockumentary-style comedy universe that captures the heart, humor, and heritage of German life in America.

    We exist to:

    • Showcase the beauty and weirdness of German-American traditions

    • Create jobs, joy, and cultural pride for our local community

    • Laugh in the face of adversity—and invite the world to laugh with us

    • film authentically in real spaces, not sterile sets

    • Re-Imagine what it means to live the “Wurst Life”

We believe in homemade storytelling over Hollywood gloss. Real people over polished actors. And bratwurst over box office.

No formal training. No studio execs. Just heart, hustle, and heritage.

“When the imports stopped, the creativity started. We didn’t just lose a business—we found a purpose.”

    — Chad, Founder & Navy Vet

“Make it German. Make it Funny. Make it Ours.”

At The Wurst Life Studios, our mission is to create, inspire, and empower a new generation of German-American storytellers.

What began as a last-ditch effort to save our family business—crushed under tariffs and red tape—has grown into something far greater: a creative sanctuary where heritage meets hustle, and culture meets comedy.

    We’re not just making shows.

We’re building a studio. A platform. A launchpad for young and upcoming German-American filmmakers who have something to say—and the grit to say it loud.

    Because let’s be honest:

🛑 Nobody’s coming to save us.🛑 Nobody’s handing us anything.✅ So we’ll build it ourselves—camera by camera, scene by scene, pretzel by pretzel.

We film in real spaces, with real people, and real heart—from the beer hall to the church to the Dirndl Haus. This isn’t just entertainment—it’s a movement.
